A steel pipe handrail is socketed into a two-inch diameter pipe sleeve set within a concrete curb. The curb is reinforced with two continuous number five bars and number four bars spaced at eighteen inches on center, alongside continuous number four bars at twelve inches on center. A three-inch by three-inch by quarter-inch angle is welded to the sleeve embedded in the ten-inch high concrete section. The curb dimensions vary with a six-inch minimum height above the vehicle ramp and two feet minimum depth at the pedestrian ramp.
