An angle measuring 8 inches by 6 inches by 1/2 inch and 1 foot 3 inches long anchors into the concrete slab, fitted with three number 6 dowels that are 2 feet 6 inches long and three 3/4-inch diameter by 6-inch long welded studs attached with a full penetration weld to the plate. The angle bears on an HSS column sized per the framing plan, connected with a 1/4-inch fillet weld. Wire mesh is tack-welded to the steel and the pocket is filled with non-shrink grout after welding.
