A beam framing connection to a supporting column utilizes a sloped angle end with a plate measuring 3/8 inch by 8 inches by 0 feet 8 inches. One-half inch thick stiffener plates are welded to the web with 1/4-inch fillet welds top and bottom. A 5/16-inch fillet weld secures the connection top and bottom near the work point. The adjacent beam is sized per plan with a maximum 3-inch clearance.
