A reinforced concrete infill channel is anchored to an existing concrete masonry unit wall with number 4 by W dowels spaced at 12 inches on center threaded into the wall and drill-and-epoxy anchors. Additional reinforcement consists of number 4 bars at 12 inches on center and number 4 by 2 foot 6 inch dowels at 12 inches on center top and bottom with lap splices per structural notes. The existing concrete surfaces are roughened to expose coarse aggregate to a quarter-inch amplitude, and the concrete thickness matches the existing wall thickness.
