Metal deck panels are lapped directly over the top flange of a structural steel beam with a minimum overlap of five inches. Mechanical fasteners secure the overlapping deck sheets to the beam flange at equal spacings. The assembly accommodates standard deck continuation and side lap connections across structural supports.
