A wide-flange beam connects to the web of a wide-flange column using an ASTM A572 Grade 50 shear plate whose thickness is specified per the schedule. The connection is secured with one-and-one-eighth-inch diameter ASTM A490-N bolts spaced at three inches vertically with edge distances of one-and-a-half inches. ASTM A572 Grade 50 pad plates are placed on the opposite side per the schedule, matching the 'T' dimension of the beam. Full-depth H-plates sized per the schedule are welded to the column web and flanges. Column flanges are shown cut away for clarity, and welds are specified on three sides per the schedule.
