This connection details a wide-flange beam framing into a wide-flange column for a buckling-restrained braced frame system. Continuity plates are welded to the column web on each side, sized to exceed the beam flange thickness by one-eighth inch. A shear plate connects the beam web to the column flange, utilizing bolts and a partial-joint-penetration weld designated by note requirements. The beam web is also connected to the column with a complete-joint-penetration weld per note specifications.
