Hollow structural section braces frame into wide flange beams using a double angle connection referenced to another detail. A three-eighths-inch plate is located twelve inches below the top of the wide flange beam, secured with five-sixteenths-inch shop or field welds. An additional plate measuring three-eighths by three inches by zero feet six inches is fastened with two three-quarter-inch-diameter bolts. The hollow structural section braces align at work points with minimum clearances and spacings specified on the drawing.
