A buckling restrained brace connects to a wide-flange column and girt assembly via a slotted gusset plate passing through the girt and column, flanked by half-inch Grade 50 stiffener plates on each side of the column web. Connection plates are welded at the flanges, and beam webs are secured using four three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth-inch and three-eighth-inch sizes are specified throughout the connection assembly.
