Three-quarter-inch-diameter shear studs are welded through the metal deck directly into the deck trough positioned over the steel beam centerline. Single stud configurations require a minimum one-and-a-half-inch bearing for each sheet. Double stud configurations require specific spacing dimensions including three inches minimum between studs and one-and-a-quarter inches from the stud center to the edge. Deck sheets are split longitudinally when required to enlarge the trough. Double studs are provided where single stud spacing would be less than six inches on center.
