A moment frame beam brace connects to a wide flange steel beam and is supported by a C10 channel. A kicker brace sized per plan extends from a three-eighths-inch by six-inch square gusset plate at the roof deck down to a web stiffener on the main steel beam, with flanges coped as required. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly typically throughout. Section A-A details the channel chord connection to the top chord of a steel joist or wide flange beam with a three-inch clearance and required coping.
