A precast channel stringer of size C12x30 frames into a hollow structural section 6x4 beam at the second floor. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is welded on the far side of the connection. Metal deck support angles measuring 3x2x1/4 by zero feet five inches are placed on each side of the channel stringer, accompanied by smaller angles measuring 1-1/2x1-1/2x1/4 by zero feet eight inches. Fillet welds of one-eighth-inch and one-quarter-inch sizes are specified with one-inch ends and one-half-inch returns. The assembly supports twelve-gauge bent plates carrying two-inch lightweight concrete treads.
