A cold-formed steel stud wall framing connects at the sill track anchored to a concrete foundation. Steel studs and track members are sized according to the structural plans and schedules. Typical studs attach to the track with a number 10 sheet metal screw at each flange. A jamb stud is detailed with two additional concrete anchors at locations requiring holdowns, spaced a minimum of three inches apart and a maximum of eight inches from the end. The jamb stud flange is secured to the track with number 10 sheet metal screws at each flange, supplemented by a three-inch minimum stud connection using two rows of quarter-inch diameter TEKS screws at twelve inches on center.
