A square structural steel base plate supports a hollow structural section column and is secured with four three-quarter-inch diameter by one-foot three-inch long embedded heavy-hex anchor bolts typical unless noted otherwise. The assembly sits within a six-inch minimum square blockout, with a circular Sonitube blockout permitted as an alternative. A typical one-and-a-half-inch edge clearance is maintained from the plate to the surrounding concrete.
