A hollow structural section post measuring 4 inches by 4 inches by one-quarter inch is welded with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld to a three-eighths-inch base plate. The base plate is anchored to the top of a concrete masonry unit wall using two three-quarters-inch diameter anchor bolts with an eight-inch minimum embedment. Section A-A details the base plate layout, measuring sixteen inches by six inches with anchor bolts spaced twelve inches on center.
