A metal deck and concrete slab depression are supported by a wide flange steel beam, with metal deck flutes running perpendicular to the beam support. The assembly features a continuous bent plate or angle measuring 3/8 in. thick providing a minimum bearing of 2 in. Typical reinforcement includes two continuous No. 4 bars along with standard slab reinforcement. A fillet weld size of 3/16 in. is specified with a 12 in. spacing. The depression allows for a maximum depth of 4 in., with edge dimensions varying based on slab thickness.
