A steel bearing plate measuring 1'-10" by 11" is connected to eight number 5 ASTM A706 reinforcing bars. The assembly features a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld with E80 electrode typical at the connection. The plate layout includes symmetrical edge distances and bolt hole or reinforcing spacing of six inches vertically and two and a half inches horizontally from the centerline of the beam width.
