A sawcut control joint in a concrete slab of total thickness T. Sawcut depth is limited to a maximum of one-quarter of the slab thickness (T/4). Joint width is 1/4 inch for exposed floors and 1/8 inch for all other locations. Filler and sealant are required for exposed floor joints. Reinforcement maintains a 2-inch clearance from the top surface of the slab.
