A single-plate shear tab is welded to the face of a supporting column or girder with a weld size designated as TW. The supported beam web connects to the shear tab using standard bolt holes spaced at three inches typical, with a one-and-a-quarter-inch edge distance for three-quarter-inch bolts. Edge dimensions of one-and-three-quarters inches and two-and-a-quarter inches locate the bolt pattern vertically relative to the support face. The detail includes general provisions for lateral force resisting system member connections where applicable.
