A fourteen-gauge Z-channel spaced at twelve inches on center is fastened to the underside of the structural steel beam flange. Metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center connect to a slip track bearing against the Z-channel assembly. Powder-actuated fasteners with a three-quarter-inch embedment secure each Z-channel.
