A wide-flange beam frames into a wide-flange column web using a shear tab connection with a maximum one-half inch clearance. A three-eighths inch plate matches the shear tab thickness and is placed top and bottom, but is omitted if it conflicts with continuity plates at moment connections or at the top of the column. A one-half inch cap plate is provided at the top of the column where applicable.
