The building column connects to a one-and-three-quarter-inch thick base plate with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld around the column flanges. Four one-inch diameter Grade 55 threaded rods secure the base plate using Hilti HIT-HY 200 V3 epoxy with twelve inches of embedment. The square base plate measures one foot eight inches on each side with symmetrical anchor rod spacing.
