A ten-inch minimum slab depression occurs in a cast-in-place concrete floor. Continuous number four reinforcing bars are detailed at the top and bottom of the step with a one-foot minimum lap splice. Typical slab reinforcement transitions across the depressed drop, resting over prepared subgrade and gravel base layers. Dimensional callouts indicate eight-inch offsets at the sloped transition zones.
