A hollow structural section column bears on a nine-inch by five-inch by one-half-inch embed plate set atop a concrete wall. The connection is secured by two three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts welded to the embed plate with full penetration welds and detailed with hooked ends embedded into the concrete. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the HSS tube to the embed plate. The base plate layout is spaced with six inches between anchor bolts and one-and-one-half-inch edge distances. A construction note permits shifting the HSS tube where needed at the end of panels.
