A stair post is anchored to a two-foot-by-two-foot thickened concrete slab using a base plate and grout sized per plan, secured with anchor bolts. The six-inch concrete slab features an isolation joint with a joint filler strip adjacent to the post. Reinforcing steel consists of number four bars at twelve inches on center each way.
