A typical full-depth beam-to-beam connection joins a secondary steel beam to a supporting beam or girder. The supported beam features a coped lower flange as required for installation where the member occurs. A full-depth connection plate is welded to the supporting member web and bolted to the supported beam web. Standard clearances and edge distances are maintained with minimum radii specified for the plate geometry. Fillet welds are applied typically along the connection plate, and bolt groups secure the webs together.
