An exterior sign connection mounts to an existing concrete wall using a hollow structural section supported by a beam per plan and a base plate secured with two three-eighths-inch diameter concrete screw anchors at nine inches on center. The assembly requires drilling through the existing concrete wall without damaging existing rebar to attach the sign to the hollow structural section, followed by patching the core back with non-shrink grout. Sign connections occurring elsewhere are provided by others. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are specified at the structural steel connections.
