An HSS framing member connects to a primary HSS support using a bottom seat angle and a top plate. The seat angle is either L6x4x3/8 by six inches long for depths between four and six inches, or L6x6x3/8 by six inches long for depths greater than or equal to six inches. A 3/8-inch thick plate ties the top of the connecting HSS to the support. All welded connections utilize quarter-inch fillet welds unless noted otherwise. A two-inch clearance is maintained at the top connection interface.
