A structural brace connection at a beam midspan utilizes gusset plates welded to the underside of the beam flange with working points aligned at the centerline intersection. Stiffener plates are provided at the beam web to stabilize the connection against out-of-plane forces. Additional gusset plate stiffeners are included where required by loading conditions. A perpendicular beam connection is omitted for clarity at this location.
