A structural steel post and beam frame connects to a reinforced concrete column via a top-mounted embed plate and stiffened base assembly. The 1/2-inch thick embedded plate in the concrete column is anchored by four number 5 welded reinforcing bars. The structural steel column or post connects to a 3/4-inch by 12-inch by 1-foot-0-inch plate with 5/16-inch fillet welds. A beam per plan connects to the post assembly utilizing 1/2-inch thick stiffener plates and 1/4-inch fillet welds.
