All slab reinforcement remains continuous through the construction joint across the metal deck. Additional transverse reinforcement requires number three bars spaced at eighteen inches on center if concrete thickness over the deck is less than two and one-half inches, or number four bars spaced at eighteen inches on center if concrete thickness exceeds two and one-half inches. The metal deck spans in either direction with lapped slab reinforcement provided across the joint.
