A structural beam frames into a skewed or radiused hollow structural section column with a maximum one-half inch gap maintained at the interface. Connection is achieved using one-quarter by five by five inch by zero-foot five-inch bent plates located on the near side and far side. Each bent plate is secured with typical one-quarter inch fillet welds.
