Type BC and Type C seismic brace connections incorporate designated protected zones and demand critical welds. Welded, bolted, or shot-in attachments for non-structural elements are strictly prohibited within the defined protected zone region per AISC 341 Section I2.1. The brace stroke zones must be kept completely clear of any obstructions or attachments that may restrict movement between the connection and the brace restrainer. Any additional connections intended to carry loads beyond 50 pounds require prior approval from the structural engineer of record.

ANY ATTACHMENTS MADE TO THE RESTRAINER OR END CONNECTION THAT MAY PREVENT THIS MOVEMENT ARE PROHIBITED. ANY OTHER CONNECTIONS TO THE BRACE ARE TO BE APPROVED BY THE SEOR AND EVER SEISMIC. IN PARTICULAR, CONNECTIONS TO THE BRACE INTENDED TO CARRY WIND OR OTHER LOADS BEYOND 50 LB (23KG) MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO MANUFACTURE OF EVER BRACES.
