A steel beam frames into a supporting girder web with both flanges coped to accommodate the connection. The beam web connects to the girder via a shear plate welded with quarter-inch fillet welds and fastened with multiple bolts. Full-height 5/16-inch stiffener plates are provided on the girder web to match the beam web thickness. Where the beam depth is less than two-thirds of the girder depth, two bolts are specified.
