The top and bottom track members are specified to be one gauge thicker than the stud size. Two number ten sheet metal screws spaced at twelve inches on center connect the track to the lintel member. As an option in lieu of the welded connection shown, number ten screws spaced at twelve inches on center are used on each lintel member. The lintel is sized per the structural schedule based on stud width.
