A cantilever wide flange beam connects to a wide flange girder with complete-joint-penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges and a bolted connection plate at the web. A metal deck with concrete fill occurs above per plan. Backup bars and runoff tabs may remain in place. For conditions at different beam depth, the girder flange aligns accordingly, whereas at same beam depth the flanges align flush. Sizing for the cantilever wide flange beam matches the wide flange beam on the opposite side of the girder where not specifically shown on plan.
