An exterior wall stud terminates at a compressible track fastened to the underside of a concrete floor level. A concrete screw by others secures the track through its web to the overhead concrete slab. The compressible track accommodates vertical deflection from the floor above without transferring vertical loads to the cold-formed steel stud framing.
