A continuous metal track fastens to an existing concrete slab using point-eighteen-inch diameter power-driven shot pins spaced at sixteen inches on center per ESR-seventeen-ninety-nine or approved equal. Steel studs insert into the bottom track with stud sizes and finishes determined per architectural drawings. Gypsum board attaches directly to the track and framing members, while the track connects to the stud flanges at each side using number eight screws. At full height walls, the assembly requires a minimum eighteen gauge bottom track.
