Two continuous number four reinforcing bars run parallel to the joint on each side. Smooth dowels measuring three-quarters of an inch by eighteen inches are spaced at twenty-four inches on center across the joint. A snug-fitting twenty-four gauge metal sleeve is fitted over one side of the dowel to allow horizontal movement. The joint features a tooled radius of one-eighth of an inch at the top surface, with thickened slab edges extending two inches minimum at the perimeter.
