Five-eighths inch plywood or OSB transitions to one-half inch full plywood or OSB over a wood nailer attached to a structural steel chord. Two and one-eighth inch long nails fasten the sheathing on both sides of the joint. An eighth-inch plywood shim is installed with ten-penny nails spaced at twelve inches on center.
