A wide-flange beam frames into a wide-flange column via a 3/8-inch knife plate secured with two 5/8-inch by 5-inch A304 stainless steel pins. A 3/4-inch plate matching the beam width is welded to the support, supplemented by a 5/8-inch bottom bearing plate matching the beam width. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds attach the assembly at the top and bottom flanges.
