Standard control and construction joints for a slab-on-grade. The control joint features a saw-cut measuring one-eighth inch wide by one-quarter of the slab thickness deep, positioned above a continuous reinforcing layer with a clearance dimension of one-quarter of the slab thickness plus one-quarter inch. The construction joint details the meeting edge of two slab placements over compacted subgrade. Slab reinforcement and thickness are referenced to structural plans.
