This structural detail and schedule specifies concrete masonry unit lintel requirements for clear masonry openings up to 10 feet wide. The schedule correlates opening width ranges with the required number of courses and longitudinal reinforcing steel size, specifying two number four bars for openings up to 3 feet 6 inches, two number five bars for intermediate widths up to 6 feet, and two number six bars for widths up to 10 feet.
