This assembly consists of a concrete slab over metal deck supported by a wide-flange steel beam. A 1/4-inch thick bent plate serves as the slab edge form, positioned 5/8-inch from the beam centerline to accommodate shear stud attachment. The bent plate is secured to the beam with a 1/4-inch fillet weld at 2-inch spacing with 12-inch intervals. The metal deck requires a minimum 2-inch bearing on the beam flange, with specific deck gauge and slab thickness determined by structural notes. An angle may be substituted for the bent plate at the contractor's option, and a headed stud anchor is indicated for composite action.
