A one-and-a-half-inch galvanized steel bar grating spans a two-foot-wide concrete trench and rests on galvanized four-by-four-by-one-half-inch long-leg vertical angles. Each angle connects to the concrete wall using two half-inch diameter by three-and-a-half-inch embedded stainless steel expansion anchors spaced at eighteen inches on center. The surrounding concrete structure is reinforced with number four rebar at twelve inches on center each way typically, bearing directly on undisturbed soil.
