A structural steel non-frame column bears on a base plate sized per schedule over three inches of non-shrink grout. The base plate is secured to a concrete footing or pilaster using anchor bolts equipped with double nuts and hardened washers, plus one-half-inch by four-inch square plate washers typically at the embedded ends. Number four ties are spaced at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties at the footing.
