The slab edge features two layers of ASTM D226 Type II felt or one-quarter-inch expansion joint filler placed vertically against the edge per typical notes. A vapor barrier lines the underside of the slab over a four-inch capillary water barrier. The thickened slab edge transitions from a height of one-and-a-half times the standard thickness down to the standard thickness over a distance of five times the standard thickness unless noted otherwise.
