A hollow structural section beam frames into a typical hollow structural section post sized per elevation. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld is specified near side and far side at the beam-to-post connection. A separate section view details a quarter inch cap plate closing the end of the hollow structural section post with a two inch clearance below the intersecting beam.
