An open-web steel joist is reinforced with an additional diagonal web member constructed from a minimum L2x2x3/16-inch angle. The reinforcing member is positioned adjacent to the existing web members to handle concentrated loads up to 100 pounds maximum at the joist top chord, maintaining a minimum six-inch spacing clearance.
