A beam web connects to a supporting girder or column web or column flange at an angle between 30 and 60 degrees using a connection plate sized per schedule. A hardened washer is installed on the nut side of the bolt assembly. The partial joint penetration weld configuration at the support requires a specified weld size based on plate thickness minus one-eighth inch, with a maximum eccentricity of three inches. Nuts must not be welded or tack-welded to the connection plate.
